Happy Tuesday! I recently paid a visit to a really cool café and I wanted to share the 411 with my fellow foodies. Grab a fork and let’s dig in!
The Post East is an eclectic café that made its mark in the Historic Lockeland Springs Neighborhood of East Nashville in June 2014. Owned by husband and wife team Chris Cowley and Tonya Lewis, The Post was created to bring people together. Being coined as the “people connector”, Tonya made it her passion to open a coffee house that would serve as a cozy haven of cool vibes and delectable bites.
The Post East café offers breakfast and lunch, gluten-free and vegan baked goods, smoothies and hundred percent cold pressed juices and serves coffee from Victrola Coffee Roasters in Seattle.
When one thinks of a coffee shop, they usually think of a small intimate café, with live music sprinkled in here and there. However, The Post is here to change the game and has a handful of dope events to attend.
When: Every 1st and 3rd Tuesday at 7 pm.
Hosted by Chuck Beard of East Side Stories, this amazing showcase brings together local writers, and musicians, and provides them a platform to share their work with Nashville. Each showcase is recorded live and later edited for podcasts.
When: The 1st Wednesday of each month at 7 pm.
Led By Conscious Transformation practitioner Ben Dulaney, this is a special meditation session that allows you the chance to pause, relax, and reflect. Special breakout sessions are also held to meet and connect with your local neighbors.
The Liaison Art & Soul Brunch
When: Every Saturday from 11a-2p beginning in March
In partnership with Lovenoise, The Post will be introducing a weekly brunch series that will feature a different local musician each month, while showcasing various visual artists every other month. This series is all about taking it back to the basics and providing Nashville a home for the acoustic soul.
So, as you can see The Post is submerged in the philosophy of keeping Nashville connected. I know for sure I’ll be dropping in for the mediation sessions and definitely for brunch! To read more about the amazing story behind The Post click here. I hope to see you there soon!
