The Post East

Happy Tuesday! I recently paid a visit to a really cool café and I wanted to share the 411 with my fellow foodies. Grab a fork and let’s dig in!

The Post East is an eclectic café that made its mark in the Historic Lockeland Springs Neighborhood of East Nashville in June 2014.  Owned by husband and wife team Chris Cowley and Tonya Lewis, The Post was created to bring people together. Being coined as the “people connector”, Tonya made it her passion to open a coffee house that would serve as  a cozy haven of cool vibes and delectable bites.

Demeter’s Tartine: a slice of sourdough or GF toast coated with herb ricotta, green olive caper salsa, bacon or chipotle tempeh and sunflower sprouts.

Sunny Jambalaya: brown rice, kidney beans & chipotle tempeh, cooked down with tomatoes, local bell peppers cajun holy trinity and spices. Topped with a sunny egg and herbs.

The Post East café offers breakfast and lunch, gluten-free and vegan baked goods, smoothies and hundred percent cold pressed juices and serves coffee from Victrola Coffee Roasters in Seattle.

Pancakes: 2 “buttermilk” pancakes topped with fresh blackberries and crumbled graham crackers. Served with a side of organic maple syrup.

Cornbread Benedict: GF corn bread topped with tomato, avocado, bacon or tempeh and poached eggs. Covered in shallot hollandaise sauce and scallions. Served with olive oil and vin greens.

When one thinks of a coffee shop, they usually think of a small intimate café, with live music sprinkled in here and there. However, The Post is here to change the game and has a handful of dope events to attend.
