Anyone that knows me knows I appreciate the little things.

Taco Tuesday

Combine those ideas, and you’ll have a pretty good idea of how I recently spent my afternoon at Bartaco.

Now before I go any further, I do have a disclaimer:

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT visit this establishment if you are:

  • Overdue for an island vacay
  • Looking for an excuse for an island vacay
  • Dealing with career, life, or relationship frustrations

I say that because this establishment had me two seconds away from quitting my entire life while buying a one-way ticket to the nearest island where I could sell beach chairs AND make a decent living. *Kanye shrug* Judge me.

Now that I warned you, let’s taco ’bout it!

Bartaco is a hot little establishment that brings an upscale street food concept to the 12 South area of Nashville. This vacation-styled restaurant really delivers a laid back coastal environment.

What stood out to me the most was their serving strategy. Once seated, I received a nifty ordering form and a dragonfly card. This card basically lets the waiter know that either a). leave us the hell alone or b). just kidding come back, all with a flick of  your wrist.

Can you spot the dragonfly card?

Bartaco serves rice bowls, small plates, freshly squeezed cocktails and of course tacos!

Want some?

Every single item I sampled was fantastic!!!! Everything was fresh, well seasoned, and portioned to perfection. I do look forward to going back soon because the fried oyster taco tasted like God himself made it! The beverages were just as great too. The Sashito blew me out the water, with its sweet but tart mixture. I’m still shocked at how much I liked this drink considering I hate watermelon lol. Maybe after a few more rounds, I’ll grow to like that weird fruit 🙂

Overall, I really enjoyed myself at Bartaco, and I’m sure you will too. They have several locations across the US, so check them out and let me know your experience!!! Until next time my fellow foodies!

You had me at fish tacos!!!

I wish more restaurants adopted the card system like Fogo de Chao and a lot of Brazilian steak houses.. I think it makes for a better dining experience!
